Located in the very heart of the city, near St. Anthony of Padua Church, the University Library, and Gradska Otoka, this mosque has undergone several transformations over time. Built in the late 19th century in a style reflecting historicism and stylistic pluralism, the church originally featured a richly decorated Styrian roof on its bell tower, unmatched in its uniqueness. Over the years, it underwent several modifications, with the most significant changes occurring in 1941 when an additional floor was added, and the original roof was replaced with a simple four-sided structure. The church suffered damage during Allied bombings in 1944, leaving only the bell tower standing. Today, it is a designated national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
A short distance from St. Anthony of Padua Church and the Una-Sana Canton Museum stands Turbe, a site shrouded in mystery and history. Dating back to the Austro-Hungarian period in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turbe was built as a tribute to the city's defenders who courageously gave their lives resisting Austro-Hungarian forces. It is recognized as a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
